activity15_the 12 principles adapted to the computer

Disney 12 principles:

Timing_ timing in film sequence perfectly mach reality. It supports all actions, jumping, throwing ball, even waves traveling along power cable.

Squash and Stretch_ lamp jumping on ball ,and ball behave exactly as expected, squashing in moment when lamp lands on it.

Slow In and Slow Out_rolling ball is good example of natural slow in and slow out.

Arcs of Motion_rolling ball is again good example, bouncing out of bigger lamp not rolling straight line but more naturally rolls out on curve.

Anticipation_there is many examples of anticipation, When bigger lamp throw ball back it takes preparation movement – and you expected what will happen next.

Exaggeration_apparently ball is my favourite topic in this animation – and again is good example of exaggeration – when small lamp jim on top of ball it behaves quite funny.

Secondary Action_there is plenty examples of secondary actions, waves traveling along power cable, shadows and reflections, even springs on the lamp, all behave exactly as expected to be in real world.

Follow Through and Overlapping Action_movements of lamps are good examples of this principle, they shake heads, move arms exactly as real ones wold do if they can move itself.

Straight Ahead / Pose-to-Pose_ it is difficult to say what technique was used to animate objects but we can assume it was mix both to achieve so real animation.

Staging_use of this principle was easy in this scenario – main characters are lamps – use their light as pointer was.

Appeal_use simple but real models supported by real shadow system was key point to make this movie real. All that supported by realism of movements make this movie break truth.

Solid Drawing_perfect shadow and reflections system supported by natural physic in this 3d animation is key to success.
